Click here for MSDS Facts Q: There are many sanitizers on the market, were does Cymbion’s product fit? A: Our product establishes a liquid option where previously only gels and foams were available. Q: All of the Hand Sanitizeres I have used are gels or foams. Why is LiquiCleanse® not a gel or foam? A: To create a gel, thickeners have to be added to the formula. These serve no purpose except to increase the thickness of the product. Repeated use of products containing thickeners leave a residue on the skin and, after a few applications, lead to enough buildup that hands need to be washed with soap and water. Similarly, foams are created by adding surfactants. Other than aiding in the foaming process surfactants do not have any beneficial effect on the skin. However, surfactants can cause irritation if the skin is cracked or has small nick or cuts. Q: Why does Cymbion® refer to this product as the “first truly waterless antimicrobial Hand Sanitizer"? A: There are two basic types of hand washes on the market today:
The LiquiCleanse® formula has no added water and therefore is the first truly waterless Hand Sanitizer. Q: Why is a truly waterless formulation better for use on skin? A: A truly waterless product is better because it will evaporate or dry at the same rate regardless of the ambient humidity. A product containing water will evaporate/dry at different rates depending on the relative humidity. Thus, on a humid day it may take several minutes for water to dry. This will leave the hands and skin feeling wet and clammy. There are many products that make the claim of being “waterless”. That is true. Although these products contain a large quantity of water in the formulation, no water is required when using them. Therefore the claim of “waterless.” Q: LiquiCleanse® contains 75% ethyl alcohol. Will using it repeatedly dry my hands? A: LiquiCleanse® is formulated with unique moisturizing agents that not only prevent the skin from drying, but actually help to moisturize your skin. Frequent users have reported LiquiCleanse® feels and performs like a moisturizing lotion. Q: When I use LiquiCleanse® it does not have the characteristic cooling effect of alcohol based products on my skin. A: LiquiCleanse® unique formula overcomes this common objection of alcohol based products by incorporating ingredients in the formulation that change the heat of evaporation. Q: Will repeated use of LiquiCleanse® irritate my skin? A: No. In challenge studies done at an independent test lab all versions of LiquiCleanse® were found to be non-irritating. Q: I have used alcohol-based gels for years. Why should I switch to LiquiCleanse® ? A: LiquiCleanse® is the first innovation in Hand Sanitizer formulation since the emergence of the first hand sanitizing gel in the early 1990’s. LiquiCleanse® is:
Does not make the hands sticky or gummy after single or multiple uses. Does not interfere with the use of gloves. In addition, it does not change your grip or feel which is very important if you’re using instruments and devices.
